How to renew

Renew via My Account 24/7

  • Go to My Account from the buttons across the top of the screen.
  • You will need your User name shown on your TUSC e.g. X1234567 to borrow books and your PIN
  • Enter your details and click Logon
  • Select the Loan tab
  • To renew all of your loans, click on the Renewal All button
  • For individual renewals, click on the Renew button of the item you wish to renew
  • New dates and a Renewed! button will confirm successful renewals. Messages will display against individual items that could not be renewed or if there is an issue with your account
  • Log Out using the red logout button.

Items can be renewed up to 12 times as long as they haven't been reserved by another customer.

 

Renew by telephone

Dial 01642 342100 (Mon-Fri 09:00-17:00)

  • You will need your User name to request the member of staff to renew your loans
  • Outside these hours you can leave a message and we will return your call

 

Renew at the self service machines

If you have the books with you, you can renew at the self service machines on the ground floor of the Library.

  • Choose the issue option and enter your PIN
  • Issue the items to yourself - this will renew them on your account

 

Renew at the iZone in the Library

At Middlesbrough campus you can ask staff at the iZone on the ground floor of the Library during staffed opening hours.

Staff are available at the Darlington Campus Customer Service desk during staffed hours

What is my PIN?

You need a PIN to borrow items from the library, to renew and reserve items online via My Account. You can set up your own PIN or re-set an existing PIN by logging on at: MyLogin.

Select the option to Manage your security details from the top left hand side menu and follow the onscreen instructions.

When you can't renew items

You will not be able to renew your loans if:

  • Your account is stopped due to an overdue loan or charge
  • The item is an Inter Library Loan - see the Inter Library Loans
  • The item has been reserved by another borrower
  • You have reached the renewal limit, items can be renewed up to 12 times. if you reach the renewal limit, the item needs to be returned by the due date, you can borrow it again if it has not been reserved by another borrower.
  • You have tried to input your PIN unsuccessfully more than 10 times.
