This workshop aims to help you:

  • Understand the purpose of the literature review, and what you need to bear in mind before beginning to write one
  • Identify any potential problems which might prevent you from producing a successful dissertation

This workshop is not being run at the moment, however you can still access the materials we use in the workshops - see below.

What students said

Library staff on the course were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

The library sessions were extremely helpful and well organised and encouraged me to use different literature search sites.

The staff were clear coherent and professional in the content delivery.

A key improvement for me has been the use of library facilities in searching for journals and help with referencing.

The library sessions were extremely useful and the skills I developed in these will prove invaluable when doing my literature review.

The library staff did a terrific job teaching the group how to specialise searches… Also introducing me to RefWorks was very valuable to me. Really this package could save me a lot of time.

The most useful aspect of the workshop was ……

“The preparation for our literature review” “literature review and critical thinking evaluation” “Critical Thinking - helped me to become aware of how to be critical” “the interactive elements with step-by-step instructions” “RefWorks and paragraph writing”
