What is LibQuest?

LibQuest is a game that introduces Computing, Media and Arts students to Student & Library Services.

It is organised by the School for first year students and details will be made available by tutors regarding how to participate.

LibQuest Mission briefing

You will take part in a spy mission through which you will explore our facilities and learn about the support available to help you succeed in your academic studies.

You have been selected to take part in a Spy Orientation Mission.

You will be given a number of clues to locations around Student & Library Services, where you will be required to complete tasks and find information.

When you have found all of the information, you will unlock a reward for your group.

You will be asked to scan QR codes using the LibQuest website. You will be asked to scan the items to reveal the next clue. Good luck.

To complete the mission you will need to:

1) Register to use the Library self-service facilities by creating a PIN

2) Connect your mobile device to the WiFi network

3) Please go to LibQuest website to start your mission.

Learning from LibQuest

By the end of LibQuest you will:

  • Be aware of the different buildings which are part of Student & Library Services
  • Have found a book using the Dewey system, borrowed and returned it
  • Be aware of the different types of help and support available
  • Find ways to help you manage your life, body and mind

We would really appreciate you taking the time to complete our survey about using LibQuest

What do I do when I have completed LibQuest?

Take your mobile device with the Mission Completed screen displaying and borrowing receipt, to a Library Support Assistant in the Library. They will be wearing a grey t-shirt, with "Library Help" written on the back, Monday - Friday 9am-7pm.

Where do I go for my completion reward?

Take your mobile device with the Mission Completed screen displaying and borrowing receipt, to a Library Support Assistant. They will be wearing a charcoal grey t-shirt, with "Library Help" written on the back, Monday - Friday 9am-7pm

What should I do if I have technical difficulties?

Try closing down the website and restarting it. Re-scan the last item you scanned. This should take you back to where you left off. Save your progress as you go along, so that you can re-start where you left off. If you need help please let a member of staff know.
