How do I login?

  • Click on the RefWorks logo below.

  • Select Teesside University from the pull-down list of institutions.
  • Enter your ICT account username and password into the box on this page and then login.

 

*The first time you login to RefWorks you will have to register by completing the online form.

Do not try and login via the Login name and Password boxes on the RefWorks main login page  - instead look for the link for Shibboleth Access and then use your university IT username and password.

Getting started

What is RefWorks?

RefWorks is a web-based tool that allows you to create and manage your own personal database of useful references. You can then use these to quickly compile a bibliography for your reports and papers.

It also allows you to collaborate and share your research with colleagues.

What does it do?

  • You can import references directly from a number of online databases
  • It allows you to organise, store and manage your references
  • It allows you to automatically format your bibliography in a variety of styles
  • It allows you to share your references with colleagues

How do I login?

  • RefWorks YouTube Channel - there are various short tutorials created by RefWorks on YouTube.
    Note: - go to the Full Screen view to be able to see the text clearly.
  • RefWorks LibGuide by Proquest - this is the guide produced by Proquest (the company responsible for RefWorks)
  • RefWorks Community - a site that keeps you up-to-date with new developments and offers tips and other useful advice on all things RefWorks.

Succeed @ Tees Workshops: Refworks

We run a Succeed@Tees workshop on Using RefWorks : an easy way to manage your references

Are you jotting down details of useful sources on scraps of paper? Can’t keep track of them? Is referencing and citing a chore?

RefWorks may be the tool that you are looking for.

Come along to this introductory workshop and learn how to use legacy (not New) RefWorks. It will cover how to:

  • create a Refworks account and start adding references
  • store, collate and organise your references
  • create a bibliography from these references easily and quickly

Experience of database searching is necessary for this session.

The dates for workshops in autumn 2017:

  • Wednesday 25 October, 12-1 (Room TBC)
  • Wednesday 15 November, 12-1 (Room TBC)
  • Wednesday 6 December, 12-1 (Room TBC)

These are drop-in - no need to book.
