Faith and Quiet Spaces on Campus

The University has a range of spaces on campus to support prayer and quiet reflection during the work and study day.  These include the following:

Muslim Prayer Rooms

There are dedicated Muslim prayer rooms located in the

Waterhouse Building, W1.02 and W1.03. These rooms provide a suitable environment for prayer.  There are rooms for men and women with dedicated and newly installed Wudhu facilities nearby. Please use the link below to see a University campus map. Access is via TUSC.

Quiet Room

There is a quiet room for individual prayer and quiet reflection located near the Muslim prayer rooms in the Waterhouse Building in room W1.01.  It is available for people of all faiths and none to provide a quiet space to take a little time out or offer a prayer.

The Meeting House

The Meeting House can be found at 20 King Edward's Square by the entrance to the Clarendon Car Park.  It is used by the faith and reflection Service, the counselling service and other groups for a variety of activities.  The Meeting House space has areas for worship, quiet meditation and prayer.  There is also a welcoming and comfortable kitchen and lounge area.

The Meeting House is available during weekdays between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm, excluding times when group bookings are taking place.  It is a place where students can visit a peaceful environment to meet socially or enjoy a time of stillness and quiet reflection.  Those who use the space have welcomed opportunities to take time out from the busy campus environment.

To discuss arrangements to access the house as an individual or as part of a group please make an appointment with Student and Library Services.

All facilities are open to staff, students and visitors of the University.  For access details please contact the Help Desk in the Student Centre.
