Essay Writing Skills (Optional Module)

Develop your Essay Writing Skills

Student writing This optional module, for students from the School of Health and Life Sciences, covers some key skills when writing essays:

  • Finding quality information
  • Academic Writing
  • Structuring an assignment
  • Referencing and in-text citations

The module runs online via MS Teams over 4 consecutive weeks. This semester it will start on Wednesday 5th February 2025, from 1-2pm. The sessions will be recorded and made available on the Teams site.

Searching Skills (Optional Module)

Develop your Advanced Searching Skills

This optional module is designed to supSearching on a computerport final/penultimate year undergraduate students and taught postgraduates who need to
carry out a structured search for a dissertation/systematic review in health.

The module looks at some key skills which are needed when structured searching:

  • Planning a structured search
  • Searching in key health databases
  • Managing search results

The module runs online via MS Teams over 4 consecutive weeks. This semester it will start on Wednesday 5th March 2025, from 1-2pm. The sessions will be recorded and made available on the Teams site.
