Studying independently

What is independent study?

making notesIndependent study means taking control of your own learning.

Effective independent learners are able to identify:

  • what they want to learn
  • the best ways to learn
  • how to show that they have learnt

Independent study includes:

  • quiet, personal time
  • working with someone else to encourage each other and talk through difficulties
    • If you have a problem, explaining it to someone else can help clarify issues for you
