I am a student/staff at another university - can I join the Library?
You may be able to join the Library free of charge through the SCONUL Access Scheme if your home institution participates, check the website for further information & an application form at via the SCONUL Access Scheme link below.
Please note we do not permit access to electronic resources through the SCONUL Access Scheme due to licensing restrictions. Access to the Library is during staffed opening hours only.
SCONUL Access Scheme
Teesside University is a member of the SCONUL Access scheme which is a co-operative venture between most HE libraries in the UK allowing the following to visit and borrow materials from participating libraries in addition to their home libraries:
- full time postgraduates
- all part-time students
- distance learners

- students on placement (of 6 weeks and longer)
- postgraduate research students
- teaching staff and
- research staff
Full time undergraduates can have access to some libraries for reference purposes. Not all universities are in the Scheme and the agreement does not always extend to the use of electronic resources or access to general IT. WiFi access
If you are from an institution that is participating in the Eduroam service, you may be able to use your laptop in the Library to connect to the internet via WiFi, see the link below for more information.
