Accessing Electronic Resources Off-Campus

In order to use online databases, ejournals and ebooks off-campus, you will need to log in with a username and password.  This will normally be your IT account details.  For information regarding off-campus access restrictions to library databases, please refer to the A-Z of Databases.

Find it @ Tees

When you see the  button next to a journal reference in any of our online resources, you can click on it and a search of our electronic subscriptions takes place to find the full text if it is available.

Google Scholar Search

Google Scholar (available at http://scholar.google.co.uk/) allows you to search the internet for scholarly articles and books. You can customise Google Scholar so that the button appears alongside the results in order to search for full text in our electronic resources.

To add the  button to your Google Scholar search, click on the image with the three lines at the top left hand side of the screen: Screenshot from Google Scholar to show where settings areThen click on Settings and choose Library links from the left hand menu. Enter Teesside University in the search box. Tick the box next to Teesside University - Find it @ Tees and then click on Save.

Now whenever you perform a search in Google Scholar, the  button will be displayed next to the results. It will help you to connect to the full text of the resource if Teesside University Library has a subscription to it (either electronically or in print).
