What is an action plan?

An action plan is a document that lists what steps must be taken in order to achieve a specific goal.

It will help you to reflect on what you have learnt and how to improve by:

  • Helping you clarify what you have to do to improve
  • It can set timescales for when you need to make improvements
  • It helps you identify how you have improved over time

Your action plan

  • Set yourself high, challenging but realistic expectations
  • Recognise how much work you put into the assignment
    • A lot – you may need to improve techniques e.g. writing; critical analysis
    • Not enough – how to motivate yourself to work harder?
  • Look at the action plan for your own work
  • Use this to help you in the future
