The iPad is enhanced by Teesside University’s Future Facing Learning toolkit – a collection of software apps available on each iPad.
The toolkit is used inside and outside the classroom to support you in preparing for professional life.
Microsoft Office 365 is at the heart of the toolkit – particularly Microsoft Teams which is a collaborative working space that allows you to develop skills that will benefit your career – teamwork, project management, digital literacy.
Some of the apps, such as Socrative and Padlet, are specifically designed to help you actively engage in the learning experience, allowing you to provide feedback and ask questions in an online environment.
You also have access to the MyTU, the Teesside University student portal which provides vital information on your studies – email, calendar, campus map, PC finder, library loans, print credit – and our virtual learning environment, Blackboard for your course materials. All of the apps within the toolkit can also be used on other devices both on and off campus
Clips is a free app for making fun videos to share. With a few taps you can create vertical and horizontal videos with immersive camera effects, artistic filters, dynamic music, animated text, emoji, stickers, and more.
iMovie is a video editing software application developed by Apple. Features include options to modify and enhance video colour settings, crop and rotate video clips, stabilize shaky videos, add video transitions, and change the speed of clips
Keynote is Apple's presentation tool. Users can create slideshows that include images (from the device's camera roll), text, and charts, and they can select themes, fonts, styles, transitions, and animation from a range of options.
Pages is a word processor that lets you create documents, and comes included with most Apple devices. And with real-time collaboration, your team can work together from anywhere, whether they're on Mac, iPad, iPhone, or a PC.
You can use Quick Notes to jot down information over any app or screen on iPad.
Add handwriting, links, Safari highlights, tags etc to Quick Note so you can get to important names, numbers, and ideas easily.
When you highlight text in Safari or add a link from an app, you see a Quick Note thumbnail next time you visit the site, taking you right to what you were viewing before.
You can access all your Quick Notes in the Notes app .
And when you make a Quick Note on your iPad, you can see the note on your iPhone and Mac, too.
