Publishing a Journal Article with a Transformative Publisher Agreement

What are Transformative Agreements?

Transformative agreements are a way for publishers to transition their traditional subscription journals to fully open access. The costs of open access are part of an overall Teesside University payment covering both subscriptions (Read) and open access publishing (Publish). They enable TU authors to publish open access without the need to pay further fees in journals that are part of the agreement

How to use the Teesside University agreements:

  • PhD researchers or members of staff at Teesside University can make use of these agreements
  • The Teesside author must be the corresponding author
  • Your must use your University email account when submitting your article
  • Not all articles submitted to be published in the agreements are eligible - see table below for requirements of each publisher.
Former members of staff, honorary members of staff, visitors or undergraduates are not eligible to use these agreements.
